Sunday Nights

Not much happening in my world tonight, and I rather like it. Plans include making some dishes I can take to work, including this simple chickpea number from Orangette and some variation on sesame peanut noodles found at most Chinese restaurants. And maybe an impromptu game of Settlers of Catan at Jake’s.

Fall is definitely here, save for a few warmer days expected next week. I love this season because of the cool weather, first waves of winter squash, and the return of some of my favorite TV shows. I don’t know about you, but I’ve been loving SNL lately. Amy Poehler is one of the funniest people in the world, and she’s good friends with Tina Fey and having a baby with her husband Will Arnett (GOB Bluth), I love her even more. I’m excited to see what SNL has in store, especially now that Tina Fey will play the role of Sarah Palin. Here’s a clip from last night’s season premiere:

    Kate says:

Chickpeas, yum. I’ve been enjoying this:

But I make it without the eggplant, which I’ve determined to be a basically useless food substance. Sometimes I just eat the chickpea salad on crackers.
